Where are you for Sukkos? The question, and the planning start during the summer. For Rabbi Yossi Hurwitz, and his wife Esther, Directors of Chabad of Swan Lake, NY, the preparations start before that. It is now considered tradition. All those who come upstate to the mountains for Sukkos look forward to Rabbi Yossi’s plans.
Shoprite of Liberty NY is always so welcoming. Every time that they are approached by Rabbi Hurwitz, he is greeted with a smile, and assurance that Shoprite welcomes his projects. Simchas Bais Hashoeva is attended by hundreds of Jews. They know that Sukkos will be met with beautiful dancing, and they too can be a part of the happiness that Simchas Bais Hashoeva brings. Depending on the weather there are between 500 and a thousand attendees.
The police department is always so helpful, and this year proved no different. Both the Chief of Police of Liberty, Scott Kenny, and the Sheriff of Sullivan County, Michael Schiff attended the beautiful celebration. Having their presence to secure the area is always so appreciated, and gives Chabad a chance to make a kiddush Hashem. Councilman Russel Reeves, and DA Jim Farrel also partook in the Simchas Beis Hashoeva. The positive interaction with the officials is always beautiful.
Singer and entertainer Shmully Hurwitz and Cantor Aryeh Leib Hurwitz regaled the crowd with their incredible talents.
As one who is never satisfied, this year Rabbi Yossi also arranged for a trampoline garden and arcade to be at the event. The children who attended were in for a largely unexpected treat!
All in all the Simchas Beis Hashoeva was a huge success!
Kol Hakavod! Looks incredible
May you continue to lighten up the entire catskill mountains! A real kiddush Lubavitch
We live in flatbush, last year we were Sukoss in the mountains, we attended the Simchas beis Hashoeivoh by chabad it was so nice there was over a thousand ppl. This year was cold we were planning to stay in the city but my kids begged us to go to the mountains to see the Beis Hashoeiva in Liberty, we gave in to the kids, it definitely was worth it.
Every time I take my kids to the functions that Rabbi Hurwitz makes we marvel at the unique opportunity that he has to make a kiddush lubavitch.
