The great leaders of Chabad of the past generations were successful both under persecution and poverty in communist Russia and under freedom and prosperity in the United States. The common denominator was their understanding of the danger to religion both in an environment of persecution and poverty and in an environment of freedom and prosperity. This was motivated by their concern for their people and for all humanity.
