Crown Heights residents and bochurim gathered on Motzei Shabbos the night of the Chag HaGeulah of the Mitteler Rebbe for a grand farbrengen held at Beis Eliezer Yitzchok Shul.
The farbrengen took place with Rabbi Mordechai Sternberg, a mashpia in the Central Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva at 770 and one of the shul’s mashpiim.
One of the highlights of the evening was a special raffle conducted by the shul’s rov Rabbi Kalman Weinfeld for the regular mispalelim. As part of the raffle, two round trip tickets from New York to Israel were given, donated by El Al Airlines as an appreciation gesture for the shul’s practice of marking mispalelim’s seats during Tishrei with the company’s luggage tags.
Michael Rosen, the North America Sales Director for El Al, honored the farbrengen with his presence and delivered heartfelt remarks.
Among other things he said that El Al is deeply moved by the privilege of lifting the prayers of the mispalelim on high. He added that the company prays together with all of Am Yisroel that very soon we merit to bring all of Beis Yisroel to Yerushalayim with the coming of Moshiach.
Also participating was Rabbi Yossi Rapp, the Rebbe’s shliach and director of the Chabad House at the airport who added a special dimension to the evening.
The farbrengen was held l’ilui nishmas Rabbi Dan Yoel ben Rabbi DovBer Levy.
