Hundreds of families in Panama City enjoyed a beautiful Drive-Thru production by the Mitzva Tank organization, together with Cteen volunteers, in honor of the Hilula of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai on Lag Baomer.
The production, held in the Great Ashkenazi Shul Beth-El, consisted of a drive-through event in the 2 levels of the parking garage.
The first level told the main points of the life of Rabbi Shimon with lighting effects, smoke, a dramatic smoking bonfire and bright decorations. The cars drove by, while participants heard an audio production retelling that part of the story. Cars then drove through a cave where they enjoyed a scene of a carob tree and a river, near which “Rabbi Shimon” and his “son” were learning.
The second floor was introduced by a soundtrack explaining how through Rabbi Shimon’s Torah, Jews would go out from Golus, with a blasting shofar, news portraying how Moshiach days will be lived with no hospitals and more. The cars then traveld out through the gates of the Bais Hamikdosh.
Over 1500 people participated in the event, with the first round performed on Thursday night with over 200 cars. People asked for more so the exhibit was reopened Sunday with an additional 100 cars joining the educational and exciting event.
