Mrs. Miriam Slavin, a resident of Crown Heights, left her home for the first time Sunday since the COVID 19 pandemic began.
Her first stop was at 770, the Shul of the Rebbe, accompanied by her son, Eli Slavin.
Mrs. Slavin then expressed her wish to her son Eli to thank the local NYPD officers for their services in recent months.
Eli approached a number of officers and told them that his mother is a Holocaust survivor and is overwhelmed with gratitude for their service.
Mrs. Slavin then personally thanked the officers, and told them of her suffering under the Communists and the Nazis. She thanked them for their service and sacrifice for our city.
The officers were very touched by the gesture, Eli Slavin told COLlive. “These tough men in blue were so thankful for my mother’s kind words,” he said.

Mrs Slavin is such a gracious woman.
She appreciates everything and can remind us all to not take anything for granted.
Thank you
