She started out in one side of the world as a six year old child, mature before her time. She is now on the other side of the world, a matriarch of a family and a respected member of the Montreal community. Mrs. Treitel recently returned from a March of the Living tour and has demonstrated to be a force of strength.
Come join us in hearing Mrs. Tuky Treitel recount her reverberating tale of hardship, faith and courage. A small girl of six, already the guardian of her young brother and cousin, she led them into hiding during the war. Together they lived in the Hungarian countryside, assuming the roles of farmers. They were careful never to reveal the secret of their Judaism, and at the same time, never to forget who they really were.
How did they do it? From where did she get her strength at such a young age?
What lessons can we take to our own lives?
