Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to “History’s Heroes” Where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!
Highlight: Yosef
Yosef’s eleven brothers were all shepherds, which allowed them to remain separated from worldly matters and undisturbed in their Avodas Hashem. In contrast, Yosef was placed in Galus: first as a slave to Potifar, then as a prisoner, and ultimately under Pharaoh’s command. Despite these foreign environments, he remained connected to Hashem throughout his experiences. This is what it means when we say that Yosef sustained his brothers. He not only provided for them physically but also spiritually. He imparted to them the strength to remain true to Yiddishkeit, even amid the darkness of the world. Similarly, every Jew receives from Yosef the same ability to overcome challenges. Yosef has imparted this superpower of strength to face and rise above hardships.
When Yosef was reunited with his brothers in Mitzrayim, he exemplified profound kindness and forgiveness, demonstrating his incredible growth through pain. Today, we will embark on a creative journey, crafting a stunning painting using an exciting technique—foil transfer sheets. These sheets will transform our canvases as they stick to the glue overnight. Peeling off the sheets promises to be one of the most satisfying moments! Let’s get our canvases primed and embrace the inspiring story of Yosef Hatzadik while unlocking the magic of foil art.
Please join our contest, where we raffle off 2 Tickets to the Jewish Children’s Museum, when a completed project (picture or video) is sent to [email protected] . Hatzlacha
