Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to “History’s Heroes” Where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!
Highlight: Yocheved
After Pharaoh commanded Yocheved and Miriam to kill all newborn baby boys, they chose to disobey him. When Pharaoh demanded an explanation, they told him they couldn’t carry out his orders because the Jewish women were extraordinarily skilled and gave birth on their own, often before the midwives even arrived. If that was the case, why did the Jewish women need midwives at all? Although they didn’t require regular midwives, Yocheved and Miriam were not just ordinary midwives. They were righteous women who, despite being only two individuals, could calm and support the thousands of women giving birth, in case any complications arose. Their reward for this holy work was the privilege of having Kohanim, Leviim, and King David as descendants.
When Yocheved gave birth to Moshe Rabeinu, she bravely chose to protect him by placing him in a woven basket and setting it afloat on the Nilus River, davening for a miracle. Now, let’s help baby Moshe navigate his way home through an exciting magnet maze! Magnets possess an invisible force called a magnetic field, which can attract or repel. Each magnet has a north pole and a south pole, and opposite poles pull toward each other. This magnetic force is strong enough to overcome barriers like a thin plate or sand, keeping the magnets connected. Are you ready to assist baby Moshe on this thrilling journey? Your guidance is crucial as he maneuvers through the maze!
