Hi Boys and Girls! Welcome back to “History’s Heroes” Where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!
Highlight: Yaakov
Yaakov, the third of the Avos, fled to Charan after Eisav became upset about having sold his birthright to Yaakov. While in Charan, Yaakov built his family and amassed his wealth. During the years he worked for Lavan, Yaakov recited the 15 Shir Hamaalos from Tehillim. These songs provided him with the strength to overcome the challenges he faced there. The term “Shir” means “song,” which reflects the joy Yaakov experienced, as he understood that the hardships he encountered were ultimately leading him to greater physical and spiritual wealth.
Get ready to try a new painting technique: Spray Painting! We’ll illustrate Yaakov’s journey to Charan and his moment on Har Habayis with the rocks. Spray paint allows for easy layering and blending. To create a gradient effect, gradually decrease the pressure on the spray, as you move it away from the canvas for a smooth color transition. Enjoy the process and bring your artistic vision to life!
Please join our contest, where we raffle off 2 Tickets to the Jewish Children’s Museum, when a completed project (picture or video) is sent to [email protected] . Hatzlacha J
