i Boys and Girls! Welcome back to “History’s Heroes” where we learn about our favorite Jewish Heroes and craft, paint, or experiment, along the way!
Highlight: Dovid Hamelech
Dovid Hamelech faced many difficult challenges throughout his life. For example, King Shaul saw him as a threat and attempted to kill him multiple times. His advisor, Doeg, betrayed him and fought against numerous enemies. One of his greatest trials was when his son, Avshalom, led a rebellion to seize the throne from him. Despite these challenges, Dovid consistently placed his trust in Hashem, expressing his faith through the songs of Tehillim, most of which he composed.
A common trait among many Jewish leaders who became a Nasi was that they were shepherds. This was also true of Dovid Hamelech, who tended his father’s flock with care and compassion, ensuring that each sheep was well-fed. Today, we will carve an adorable sheep as a tribute to Dovid for being a faithful shepherd to Hashem and the Jewish nation. By using multimedia, we will make this sheep look as if it will baa into your hands.
