R’ Hillel Pewzner, one of the veteran Jewish residents of Brooklyn’s Crown Heights, passed away Monday morning.
He was in his 80’s.
Pewzner was one of the first who left Russia and lived in the neighborhood for more than 50 years.
He is survived by his wife Reva and children: daughter Esther Friedman of London, England; Faivish Pewzner of Lawrence, NY; Moshe Yosef Pewzner of Brooklyn, NY.
The late Pewzner is credited with educating his children in giving charity and supporting Jewish education. His son Faivish is a key supporter of Chabad of the Five Towns and the Chabad Cheder at the Ohel, educating children of Shluchim.
The funeral will take place today at 2:00 PM at Shomrei Hadas and will be passing 770 at 2:30 PM.
Shiva will be observed at the home of Mrs. Reva Pewzner, 420 Sterling St. Brooklyn NY.
He is surely one proud man/neshoma. He did good on this world.
