A matzeva was set on the gravesite of Rabbi Yoel Kahn OBM who was buried near the Ohel of the Rebbe in the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Cambria Heights, Queens, New York, on Friday.
The headstone paid tribute to Reb Yoel, the preeminent scholar of Chassidus of this past generation, as one who dedicated his life to memorizing, learning, transcribing and teaching the Rebbe’s sichos and maamarim.
He served as the head Mashpia of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, where he has educated thousands of bochurim in the ways of Chassidus.
A farbrengen was held in his home on Eastern Parkway to conclude the Shiva after his passing with the participation of fellow mashpiim and Chassidus teachers Rabbi Shloma Zarchi, Rabbi Nachman Schapiro, Rabbi Sholom Charitonow and others.
