Hachayol Magazine Now in Stores, By Mail and Hand Delivered

The editorial staff at Tzivos Hashem Headquarters have been using sophisticated remote-access management software for years now, but nothing prepared them for the act of preparing the 16-page full color weekly Hachayol magazines to print in the current situation. Team members are now working remotely from six countries and in almost every corner of the contiguous US. “Words cannot say enough to express gratitude to Mrs. Stolik and her incredible team,” says Rabbi Yerachmiel Benjaminson, Executive Director of Tzivos Hashem.

“The dedication of the schools and base commanders for their children’s Chinuch at this time is awe-inspiring,” says Rabbi Shimmy Weinbaum, General of the Chayolei Tzivos Hashem Brigade. “It is the commitment of these commanders to deliver the product to their chayolim while homebound that is the most extraordinary aspect of this effort. Just to name a few, Miss Baily Vail Base Commander at Beis Rivka Crown Heights has arranged with Empire Kosher to have Hachayol available for pick up in front of the store. Rabbi Mendel Levin from Oholei Torah has organized Tzivos Hashem Block Ambassadors to hand-deliver to the Chayolim in the entire Crown Heights community. Some base commanders are sending out a mailing to the homes and others are hand delivering it to their chayolim.

The magazines have been made available in an online format. This week’s full edition can be viewed at https://online.flippingbook.com/view/131060, but it does not replace having the content-rich and engaging glossy magazine at the Shabbos table.

Hachayol’s inbox has experienced an outpouring of messages from readers, chayolim and their parents, thanking Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and Tzivos Hashem for the magazines and telling how inspired they are by the content.

“In our home, we live with the Hachayol each week,” a grateful parent wrote to the staff. “We read through it all over the Shabbos meal. When we didn’t get the new magazine during that first week of quarantine, the kids brought over back issues to reread!”

She continues to note how the Parshafier, Mah Nishtana feature, Rebbe stories and niggunim transformed their Yom Tov seudos–the first they have ever celebrated without community members in all their years on Shlichus. “We are indebted to Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky Vice Chairman of Merkos L’inyanei Chinuch and Tzivos Hashem for this cornerstone of our children’s chinuch–now more than ever,” she concluded.
