The Jewish community of Rostov-on-Don in Russia is planning a series of landmark events that will commemorate the 100th yartzeit of the Rebbe Rashab, the 5th Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch.
These events are set to be held around 2 Nissan 5780 (March 26-29, 2020), and bring together local Jews with Lubavitcher chassidim and bochurim from around the world.
Rostov is home to the Ohel resting place of the Rebbe Rashab, Rabbi Sholom DovBer Schneersohn (1860-1920) who has devoted himself to the future of the Jewish nation by involving himself in education on all levels.
The Rebbe Rashab founded the flagship Chabad yeshiva Tomchei Temimim, the first to incorporate Chassidic thought into its curriculum. The original Yeshiva building still stands in Rostov.
To mark the yartzeit, Rostov’s Rabbi Chaim Danzinger is making arrangements to host a mass pilgrimage of people from the United States, Canada, Europe and Israel for Beis Nissan 5780. Events are planned to begin on Thursday and include Shabbos (March 26-29, 2020).
Leading the Farbrengen will be prominent Chabad rabbonim, mashpiim and Shluchim from around the world.
“When the 100th birthday of the Rebbe Rashab was marked, our Rebbe encouraged everyone to celebrate it with strengthening themselves with his endeavors,” Rabbi Danzinger. “Our goal is to do the same for the 100th yartzeit.”
A special website was launched this week to coordinate the information for this grand occasion: http://beisnisan.com

What an amazing opportunity, Thank you Rabbi Chaim and Kayla Danzinger for willing to take on such a big undertaking. After spending shabbos with you and your community to see what it takes to do any type of event, I commend you for taking on this big project. Looking forward to coming back for Bais Nissan.
