A Menorah lighting ceremony was held on the first night of Chanukah at the Minnesota State Capitol.
Rabbi Moshe Feller, Head Shliach to Minnesota, addressed the crowd of over 100 people who gathered for the event.
Also addressing the crowd was Rabbi Asher Zeilingold and Shliach Rabbi Menachem Mendel Feller.
The event was skillfully arranged by Rabbi Mayer Rubinfeld.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz was honored with the lighting of the Shamash.
Also in attendance was Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan. Both were gifted the book
“One by One.”
“I think it’s more important than ever to gather like this. And there are folks here who aren’t Jewish who came to support their Jewish neighbors in the lighting of the menorah and it’s a time to reset the relationships,” Governor Walz said.
“One of the central messages of Chanukah is every night, we increase in light so what was good for today isn’t necessarily good enough for tomorrow, we got to do more, and more and more, that’s the message of the Chanukah menorah,” said Rabbi Menachem Mendel Feller.
I was honored to stand with our Jewish community to celebrate the first night of #Hanukkah today. Wishing all Minnesotans who celebrate a blessed and peaceful holiday! Chag Sameach from my family to yours. pic.twitter.com/aGAmycLhQK
