150 Chabad girls attended an inspirational gathering this week in the Chovevei Torah hall in Crown Heights, welcoming them to New York for the month of Tishrei 5774.
Speaking for them was Rabbi Yoel Kahn, the Rebbe’s choizer and head Mashpia of the Central Tomchei Tmimim Yeshiva – 770 and Rabbi Sholom Moshe Paltiel, Shliach in Port Washington, NY.
It was the first of many farbrengens, programs and trips to the Ohel which will be held this month for the visiting Israeli girls, organized by the organization Bnos Chabad.
The girls are being chaperoned by two chassidishe couples and a group of counselors, sponsored by businessman R’ Shloimy Peles of Kfar Chabad, Israel.
“Bnos Chabad began this new programming because many parents didn’t want to allow their girls to make the trip to New York because there was no appropriate programming,” says R’ Shneur Minsky who is sponsoring 3 meals a day for them with R’ Avremel Lokshin.
The two Crown Heights businessmen are also helping to fund the Tishrei programming and accommodations for bochurim, coordinated by Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim organization.
“The girls previously didn’t even have the opportunity to attend the Ohel,” Minsky says. “With this program, they can daven, learn and farbreng without being pressured or brainwashed not to go to the Ohel.”
Next year, they plan to provide sleeping accommodations as well.

She said that the talmidim of rabbi akiva didn’t pass away because they didn’t have ahavas yisroel for each other. On the contrary, they had such love one for another that they couldn’t bear to see they’re own friend not serving Hashem in what they thought was the only correct way. So nice to see that there is a program for girls that need to connect and have a chance to have a real hiskashrus. The brain washing that everything starts and stops at 770 and waving flags is not accurate and that hiskashrus and being a chosid means more than just primitive dancing and waving.
