“You know what I love about Jewish Girls Unite? We’re touching the souls of our Jewish daughters in a way that will launch mindful Jewish lives. I wish I had this growing up, but I’m eternally grateful to have met you at least when I did; I’m so grateful you helped me uncover my Jewish soul as an adult.”

Jewish Girls Unite, the global online community for all Jewish girls will hold their 3rd Shine Your Light Celebration on Wednesday, March 7 at 7 pm. Not just an event, the evening will offer an unforgettable interactive experience, with singers and artists joining together to celebrate and empower our Jewish daughters worldwide.
Where better to fete our Jewish daughters than back at the Jewish Children’s Museum! Beginning at 7:00 pm with a Sushi Bar and buffet, we also invite our global audience to stream in live beginning at 8:00 pm EST.
Global JGU Director, Nechama Laber shares: “We couldn’t be happier to honor a talented artist who has touched the lives of so many through her teaching. I’m happy to announce that Chaya Pellin will receive The JGU Creative Educator’s Award! Chaya Pellin has been teaching art for over 30 years in many venues with a constant flow of students ranging from four to ninety four years old.
About Jewish Girls Unite, Chaya said: “I’m so happy to be honored by this wonderful organization. It seems to me that the JGU programs [Retreats, Classes, Resources] are a model to truly help girls, our next generation to love Judaism. I see more and more that JGU is at the forefront of what EXACTLY is needed in this generation… they really get it.”
Malka Blicblum, certified professional life coach and recovery coach, wives educator and counselor says, “Jewish Girls Unite is providing girls with a basis of self-esteem, in the years when things begin to go wanky for young girls in so many ways, both emotionally, physically and relationally. You’re providing credible, female figures who can relate to them in unconditionally loving ways. This is really so enormous and so inspiring. I haven’t come across anyone doing what you are doing. This is really so big.”
The 2018 JGU Shining Stars are: Tzivia Kay, world-class professional female singer, Chanie Chanin, extraordinary artist & singer, Lea Shemtov, young leader and Founder of the Tambourines Academy and Tzipporah Prottas, emerging Jewish thought-leader and JGU Editor In Chief. Each will perform and receive an award for their commitment to uplifting women and girls worldwide.
The evening will also include the pre-launch of the upcoming Jewish Songbook, Voices in Harmony, to be published by the JGU Press. A moving sing along, honoring the memory of loved ones, will be led by professional singers, Chaviva Tarlow, Miriam Ilyav, Franciska Kay and will accompanied by pianist, Mirele Rosenberger. We are also proud to welcome the girls from the Tambourines Academy, who will perform under the direction of Chaviva and Lea.
A highlight for the evening with be the first Benefit Art Auction with Mendy Pellin, famous Chassidic Comedian, as the auctioneer for the evening. The auction will feature the work of over 15 talented artists including: Tzivia Kay, Rivka and Neshama Sari, Chanie Chanin, Chaya Pellin, Gittel Laber, Ahuvah Coates, Riki Chanin, Yakov Moshe Moses, Chana Voola, Bina Coles, Esther Rosen, Daniella Katzenberg and Newsha Hamidi and artistic photographer, Sarah Greenfield.
