The convergence known as “Shabbos Gimmel Tammuz” is becoming organized.
Organizers of Ohel Chabad-Lubavitch are asking the public to reserve their attendance at the Shabbos spent there in connection with Rebbe’s yahrzeit on the 3rd of Tammuz.
Chassidim and bochurim who will travel from around the world to the holy gravesite at the Old Montefiore cemetery in Cambria Heights, Queens, will need to notify the organizers in advance of their plans.
“Because of the expense of the beds, they will be ordered according to demand,” said Mendy Wilhelm, a coordinator at the Ohel, about the large air conditioned tent that will be erected for sleeping a 5 minute walk from the Ohel.
The tents in the backyard of the Ohel homes will be solely used for davening, while eating the meals and the inspiring night-long farbrengens will be held in a tent in a nearby location.
There is no official cost for Shabbos, but RSVP is required and donations are requested at shabbosreservations.com. Bochurim can reserve through the Vaad Hatmimim organization.
Those planning to come with a Mobile Home will need to reserve a parking space as the NYPD will not allow Mobile Homes to park on the nearby streets, said Wilhelm.
it costs! make sure to give a penny or two
