Captain Richard Taylor, an NYPD Captain who lives in Brooklyn, has been appointed to the Community Affairs Department of the NYPD, COLlive has learned.
In his new position, Captain Taylor will be a liaison to the NYPD for the Jewish community, and will address issues and concerns relating to the many different Jewish communities in the city.
As an Orthodox Jew, Captain Taylor understands the many different Jewish communities throughout the city, and is familiar with the nuances and different needs relating to each one.
Captain Taylor has served in various precincts in the NYPD and served in the Office of the Chief of Community Affairs at One Police Plaza as a Sergeant.
“This is an excellent appointment,” honorary NYPD Commissioner and community liaison to the NYPD Devorah Halberstam told COLlive. “Richie is the perfect choice to understand our concerns and address the needs of the Jewish community.
“Especially in these uncertain times, when many people are worried about the situation, he will be available to answer any questions and address any concerns people may have.”
Keep calm and carry on.
Congratulations to Captain Richie Taylor
