Chabad of Naperville, which serves the western suburb of Chicago in Illinois, now has a new Jewish center that will help them service the Jewish community locally and in the area.
The building, located at 651 Amersale Drive, will house a kosher kitchen, Hebrew school classrooms, a space for teens, and more, reported Naperville News 17’s Casey Krajewski.
The location near the intersection of North Aurora Road and Route 59 was chosen on purpose, said the Shliach Rabbi Mendy Goldstein, who co-directs the organization with his wife Alta.
“We decided to do it closer to the highway and this would give an opportunity for our nearby cities to come as well as it’s accessible to the highway,” said Rabbi Goldstein.
After humble beginnings in the basement of their home 14 years ago, Chabad of Naperville was ready to move on to a larger building.
“You know the saying, ‘you build the building and people will come.’ We do have people coming now but we would love to reach even more people,” said Mrs. Goldstein.
