On Chol Hamoed Sukkot Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum, who is a Chaplain at the Fire Department in Rockville, Maryland, arranged for a Sukkah to be put up at the local fire station.
At an event organized by Rabbi Tenenbaum and Rabbi Sholom Raichik, Director of Chabad of Upper Montgomery County, close to 15 firefighters did the Mitzvah of Lulav and Esrog and enjoyed kosher pizza.
Rockville Fire Dept. President Eric Bernard and Deputy Fire Chief Lenny Chornock, who are both Jewish, also participated in the event and did Mitzvah Lulav.
One firefighter remarked that the last time he was in a Sukkah was over 20 years ago.
The event was arranged in conjunction with Chabad of Upper Montgomery County.
