A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon in a dormitory building of the Central Chabad Yeshiva 770 on Eastern Parkway between Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues in Crown Heights.
The blaze began around 2:30 p.m. at 755 Eastern Parkway, a four-story property that was purchased several years ago by several Lubavitch activists for use by the Central Chabad Yeshiva near 770.
Most of the apartments in the building serve as dormitory housing for bochurim studying at the 770 Yeshiva. Flames were seen shooting from third-floor windows as firefighters arrived quickly on the scene and worked to bring the fire under control.
Residents reported that the apartment where the fire began is not part of the dormitory but is privately rented.
There were no injuries reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
It is unclear whether the bochurim will be able to return to staying in the dormitory or will have to find other accommodations. The yeshiva management has informed the bochurim that they will provide alternate accommodations to those who are unable to return to the premises.

BH no injuries
bh theres no injuries, and the apartment wasn’t a dorm, rather a private rental.
That’s not Baruch hashem for the owners
And the owners are safe and alive baruch hashem
no such thing as “not boruch hashem”… we bless god always.
One should say BH on the good and the bad. He wasn’t saying the fire was a Good thing he was saying it could have been worse. And that lives are most important. Please take your own advice. May we all know only good.
It’s a dorm for Chovevei, that happens to be privately owned
It’s actually a dorm for Israeli 770 bochurim, NOT for Chovovei. It is owned by the Iggud, I wouldn’t consider that to be privately owned.
That everyone is fine
Thinking of those that lost stuff in the fire
So why do we need to give 15 feet each direction of the fire hydrant if they park on the sidewalk anyways
BH people are safe. Sorry about their belongings:(
Seems the second building fire in recent times in that area. What are owners doing to try to prevent future problems?

Same building
What happened? Is anyone monitoring the safety of the building?
About being mesudar, fire safety. Got a sandwich maker? Keep it on and put flammable things next to it. Need a smoke? Smoke inside. Have a personal heater? Throw stuff on top of it bc you’re messy and lazy.
Messiness, disorganization and laziness leads to unsafe situations.
These Israelis are coming from messy homes and live like it.
Clean up the place and enforce cleanliness standards. Teach these guys who don’t know Seder, how to take care of their gashmiyus.
A BIG THANK YOU to the FDNY!
It’s a amazing how they show up to a fire with so many firefighters, trucks, support vehicles, equipment and resources!
