When the Jewish women celebrated at the shores of the Yam Suf, it was natural to break into song to express their gratitude.
The women’s Faith was so strong that while still in Egypt, they were certain they would be redeemed and were prepared with their tambourines to sing a song of redemption in the future.
Just as it was in the merit of the women’s faith that the Israelites were redeemed, so too, it will be in the merit of the righteous women of our generation, and their unwavering belief in the Redemption, that we will be redeemed once again.
It is with this optimistic message that we present the original collaborative song “Lori” to all Jewish women from near and far, in memory of our dear sister Lori Gilbert Kaye HY”D, who lost her life at Chabad of Poway just one year ago.
During this year of missing Lori, the Los Angeles Jewish Ladies Chorale, who knew Lori personally, composed an original song in tribute to Lori. They reached out to many female singers and musicians around the world to invite them to come together in a project of unity and hope, honoring Lori.
These women gave of their generous hearts to volunteer their time and talent to be part of this unprecedented Jewish Women’s music collaboration.
Many months of heartfelt work have gone into making this labor of love, unifying Jewish women from around the world to show Lori in Shamayim that our faith is solid and that we are marching forward with her example of Kindness and grace in mind.
Thus the words: “Lori, march us to the throne of Glory, with your tambourine in hand, dance the Jewish people to Our Land..Where we will finally understand, it was all for the Glory of Hashem and we’ll be happy once again….In Glory.”
