On Shabbos Parshas Tetzaveh, Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto hosted a father and son Shabbaton.
Fathers of students joined their sons for a Shabbos in an elated atmosphere of Torah and farbrengen. They enjoyed the company of their sons, while experiencing first-hand the inspiring and uplifting aura with which the bochurim are constantly surrounded.
During the meals, which were emceed by the shluchim, the parents shared their own thoughts and feelings with the students, between hearing from both the bochurim and the staff. Friday night and Shabbos day were practically one long farbrengen, during which everyone took the opportunity to re-focus on the privilege of being a part of Tomchei Tmimim.
On Motzoei Shabbos all were treated to a gourmet Melaveh Malka, during which they were joined by additional parents – both of the mesivta and the zal – who had been unable to make it earlier. The highlight was the enthusiastic dancing after bentching, with the palpable joy of Adar intensely felt, and the very clear expression of “ashreinu mah tov chelkeinu!”
More than one parent commented before leaving that this is a Shabbos that will remain with them for a long time, and it was a great source of strength for the students as well.
