The many descendants of Rabbi Yaakov Yehuda “JJ” Hecht OBM gathered at the Ohel Chabad Lubavitch Center in Queens, NY to mark the yartzeit and share memories of the legendary chossid and activist.
The family also recited prayers at the gravesite of Rebbetzin Chave Hecht OBM.
During the event, a new Sefer Torah was begun by Rabbi Shea Hecht, which will be completed in honor of his upcoming 70th birthday.
A Siyum and Seudah followed.
