Each year, the NYC Department of Finance (DOF) sells tax liens due to unpaid water and sewer charges, property taxes, emergency repairs or municipal charges.
The tax lien sale is taking place on Thursday, May 17, 2018 so it is imperative that you do not delay and act now to avoid additional fees and interest to your debt.
For those residents living in the 35th Council District, you are cordially invited to attend a Tax Lien Outreach Event this coming Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6PM-8PM at Friends of Crown Heights Educational Center, located at 671 Prospect Place, between Bedford and Franklyn Avenues, Brooklyn, NY 11216.
You will have the opportunity to speak to a DOF, DEP or HPD representative about your tax, water, or emergency repair liens), to discuss your options for preventing the sale of your lien and avoid future lien sales.
If you are on the Lien list for 2018 then it is important that you attend this event to meet one on one with representatives from the above agencies that can assess your eligibility for exemptions or debt assistance and assist you with a payment plan.

Exemptions Certain current property tax exemptions or credits may result in the removal of your property from the tax lien sale at risk pool.
