Rabbi Yossi Weinbaum is also one of the founders of Camp Gan Yisroel. He is very proud to have been in charge of the gashmiyus of camp, while his friend Rabbi Lazar was in charge of the ruchniyus. He has many stories of his incidents with the Rebbe. Many articles online neglect to mention him. Although he isn’t Lubavitch, he is very close to Lubavitch and to the Rebbe. Rabbi Yossie Weinbaum and Rabbi Moshe Lazar started Camp Gan Yisroel with the Rebbe’s Brochos! They invited the Rebbe to come visit the camp and the Rebbe agreed and was very happy. The Rebbe told Rabbi Weinbaum to enter first because he is the balebos.
