An emotional burial was held Sunday for three Torahs destroyed in a devastating fire at the Chassidim at 110 Shul in Pomona, NY last month.
Following the fire, congregants were devastated to discover that all three of the Shul’s Sifrei Torah were destroyed.
Members of the community and the Shul congregation gathered at Har Sholom Cemetery in Pomona on Sunday to mourn the three Torahs which were burned in the early morning fire that burned their Shul to the ground.
A Levaya was held just after the fire, following which the writing of a new Torah was begun, by renowned Sofer Rabbi Moshe Klein.
The Shul has temporarily moved into the basement of a neighboring synagogue at 60 Halley.
Rabbi Shloimy Greenwald, a part-time member of the Shul, is spearheading a fundraising campaign to help the Shul rebuild.
