In the wake of recent damage in Arad, local families who lost their homes are already receiving hands-on support, thanks to the swift response of Chabad of Arad, led by Rabbi Yaakov Mendelson.
Motivated by a deep sense of responsibility to the community, Chabad acted immediately after Shabbos, providing emergency financial assistance totaling tens of thousands of shekels. The funds are helping families quickly replace essential items such as clothing, shoes, and basic household needs that were lost.
During a visit to assess the situation and better understand the families’ needs, Rabbi Mendelson emphasized the importance of restoring stability as quickly as possible, especially with the upcoming Pesach. He said, “Our goal is to ensure that every family can celebrate with dignity and feel truly taken care of.”
Chabad of Arad notes that this initial support is just the beginning. Ongoing efforts are already underway to continue assisting families as new needs arise in the coming days.
