Yes all of us must ensure the pool area is secured. But more than that, we MUST insist that every pool has a self closing and locking gate. If anyone complains that it’s too expensive, remi d them that no amount of money can compensate for the loss of a child’s life R”L
Condolences to all the family.

no words!

When visiting Swan Lake- to be sure about water safety.
It’s so sad for the parents and it could happen to any of us. Hashem decides our nisyonus.

HOW IT HAPPENED
July 11, 2016 4:31 pm

I personally spoke with one of the relatives of the boy who told me that THE POOL GATE WAS LEFT OPEN after the supervised swimming hours were over. The child apparently wandered in there and went/fell in.

Lifeguards and all adults should be extremely vigilant about closing and locking the pool area after using it, to prevent such tragic thing from happening.

bde no words . may hashem grant the family the confort they need

Pool barriers
July 11, 2016 4:17 pm

Never actually been to a bungalow colony. But is it possible to install pool barriers/fencing around pools like many have around their home swimming pools?

so sorry

It’s is still all hashgocha whatever happens. It doesn’t mean it’s not terrible and not understandable. But we must still understand we don’t see the full picture but must understand its not a hefker world and Hashem runs the world.

All you say is very good bitochon and emunah for ones self. However the same torah tells us to feel that it is terrible and not understandable how it can happen to someone else.

Very sorry. As a former rebbe I urge all parents/caregivers out there to have eyes in the back of your heads!!

yes you are judging....
July 11, 2016 11:06 am

it takes seconds for such a thing to happen and even the worlds greatest parents are human too. so stop.
pathetic how every time theres a tragedy ppl point fingers. G-ds will will prevail over the most vigilant parent’s guard.
lets just pray that he recovers now.

Invisible danger
July 11, 2016 11:04 am

Please don’t blame anyone. Drowning is so quick. A person who is really drowning does not even look in distress; they can look like they are treading water, with head tilted back, eyes open, no noise or thrashing – as if they are just enjoying themselves – and they are seconds from unconsciousness already. In the stage when there is thrashing, most people misinterpret it as ‘play’. We all need to vigilant about our own, and others, children in pools. But just to face a sobering statistic; MOST child drownings occur in sight of their parents who believe they are… Read more »

How many times does this have to happen until parents take a different perspective on this! Dont ask me what, but isn’t it just one too many, again!?
We all think it won’t happen to us c”v, it just doesn’t seem to penetrate;
Hashem yerachem and let Him watch over all the little children worldwide, especially near, and in, pools:(

My daughter, a pediatrician in Staten Island Hospital, warned us that boys from the age of one and a half to four have no sight depth. When water is in front of them, they do not recognize it as such, it looks the same as the pavement to them; they are therefore in grave danger around a pool or lake. Please, please take extra care with these little boys, they are Rachmonoh litzlon, the usual victims.
