Crown Heights businessman and philanthropist Sholom Ber Drizin will be handing out financial gifts for Pesach to 130 young Chabad couples.
COLlive.com has learned that Drizin will be giving $500 to each young man studying at one of the Chabad’s Kollels in New York City.
“It’s been 10 years that Reb Sholom Ber has performed this gracious deed, amongst the many other tremendous acts of chesed,” said community activist R’ Eli Slavin, who will be distributing the funds with R’ Noach Fox.
“Expenses for Pesach keep on increasing,” Slavin noted. “Many of the wives of yungeleit are teachers at schools that themselves are struggling. As it is well known, the Rebbe would give a lot of encouragement to the Kimcha D’pischa efforts.”
Receiving the gift will be the 130 members of the Crown Heights Kollel Menachem Lubavitch, under the Rebbe’s secretariat, Midtown Manhattan Chabad Kollel, Upper East Side Kollel of Manhattan and Kollel Torah Center.
It would be nice if someone could give similar Pesach gifts to the young newly married men who learn in the other Crown Heights kollel…the Fisher Kollel.

I cannot sadly help my son with rent while he is in KOLEL. When he received this check it brought such Simcha to his day. He now had enough for a full rent.!!!!!!!!

I have been a recipient of Rabbi Drizin’s Peisach Bonuses for two years. I took notice of the way Slavin and Fox work hand in hand.
(I learned recently that Fox’s son married Slavin’s niece).

Reb Drizin is a true ish chesed and role model. May the Drizin Family be blessed with tremendous bracha, Hatzlocho, simcha and mazel. Not many people are like Reb Drizin…he gives from the heart with no desire for recognition or personal accolades. The Crown Heights community is so fortunate to be the recipient of Reb Drizin’s philanthropic generosity.

Of the Kolel’s in nyc we thank Reb sholom ber Shlita for helping us even though we are not in ch we all live in the שכונה and we thank him for his gifts and his care for all kolel yungerleit who give a year away to learn like the rebbe wanted !!!
