The editors in the offices of Lahak Publications above 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights were busy at work on the morning of Chof Daled Teves, the yartzeit of the Alter Rebbe.
They were making final corrections to Toras Menachem volume 68, part of the series of the Rebbe‘s sichos, when the telephone rang.
On the line was a well-known philanthropist from the east coast who heard about the special sale which was announced in honor of Yud Shevat – 70 Years.
The sale offered Lubavitchers to help complete the publication of the teachings of the Rebbe’s father, Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson OBM in the series “Toras Menachem – Tiferes Levi Yitzchak.”
As someone who has a special appreciation for the Rebbe’s Torah, and especially for the dissemination of the Rebbe’s father’s teachings, the donor wanted to surprise each Shliach living in his state with the new set, delivered directly to their home.
He insisted that his identity remain anonymous. Lahak was happy to comply and this coming Yud Alef Nissan, the seforim will be shipped directly to each of the Shluchim’s homes.
Lahak’s popular sale is now coming to an end.
