A shocking video on social media shows a baby being saved in the nick of time from a boiling hot car.
The child, who appears to be about 1 year old, was left in a car in Bnei Brak, Israel, for about 90 minutes on Monday afternoon, according to reports.
Passerby Ben Shmuel Cohen, a resident of Rosh Ha’ayin who works nearby, ran quickly, saw that the toddler was red and sweaty and without hesitation smashed the window.
The infant was rescued and evacuated to the hospital and saved, according to a tweet by Eli Shlezinger.
Hatzolah Gush Dan and MDA transported to Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer Hospital in “stable condition and fully conscious.”
REMINDER:
Please watch the following videos to understand how dangerous it is to be inside a vehicle in the heat with the windows closed.
In the warmer summer months, a car can become a deadly trap in JUST A FEW MINUTES.
To actually see the baby sweating and red makes me so angry.what is wrong with people.
Don’t judge. This can happen to anyone. Even you. The brain plays tricks on people, especially when you’re out of your normal routine. The point of these videos is not to judge, rather for people to be proactive so it won’t happen to them. Leave your pocketbook in the back seat, install an alarm or reminders, etc.
The baby stayed 90minutes in the car. What happen to the parents during this time???? 90minutes!
NEVER think this cant happen to you. its scientifically proven that memory from habit is stronger then recent memory. not taking an extra precautions because you think it can never happen to you is DANGEROUS.
If you are perfect, say what you want. If you are not perfect and none of us are, then sit quietly and be happy that the baby is OK and that this doesn’t happen to anyone you know or in your family because no one should judge especially when Thank G-d that person was never in their shoes.
My solution is to put your left shoe in the back seat with the baby because you can’t walk out of your car without the shoe.
make it a habit
I see many people still distracted by their smartphones, people ignorant of basic health and safety like vaccinating their kids or not reporting cases of abuse to the police…there are accidents but we still need to call out cases of possible negligence because we know it is out there
Thank you to the young man who saved the baby’s life. Who knows what would have happened if he was not there. Thank you Hashem for saving this baby!
what a miracle
Here is why..
Nobody intends to do this surely not parents. However they think they are just leaving for a minute or so….
Then get distracted….and 30 minutes passed….
Then it may be too late..
So NEVER NEVER leave child even for just a MINUTE!!
and may the child and all children be well
So thankful to this man who saved the baby. Poor kid but glad she is ok.
Have you ever run into your home for a moment to get something then you got distracted by a phone call and a moment turned into an hour?? Well that’s why children are forgotten because we are to lazy to take them out of the car since it’s only for a moment… But that can turn into an hour.. And according to Rambam negligence is equal to malicious intent So if it’s too hard for you to take out your child then dont have them in the first place!!! Rather then loose a child and feel like you killed them???!!!… Read more »
So do yourself a favor and don’t go there. It happened to me. Baruch HaShem it was only for a minute but the very fact it happened shook me up.
You never know / maybe the parent wasn’t used to having the kid in the car with him? And ran out as he or she always does to get an errand done?
It can happen if you usually don’t take your baby in the car (for example your wife asked you to) and you are driving your regular routine. Your mind thinks about other things. Therefore; if you usually don’t drive the baby set your alarm to remind you that there is a baby in your car.
This is a lesson to learn that people need to be vigilant when walking down the streets
Having children is a demanding job and sometime incredibly tiresome, as a mom with a large family I look at my kids as diamonds. Would I leave my diamond ring or even a phone in the car? Never! Because I would hate to loose it, so how much more so children. We need to reassess our thinking. Obviously no one does this on purpose, but we live in a high pace world and our priorities need shifting. Phone calls or talking to anyone should not warrant us to forget our children. It’s still unfathomable, even when my kids are not… Read more »
This can happen to anyone and has been happening before smart phones… no one is above this! It can happen to anyone. Dont judge and instead pray that this never happened again to anyone. 🙏🙏🙏
We can only fight negativity with positivity. Shedding a negative light on people and suggesting they get punished for something too bad to be true will only make it worse
So glad to read a tragedy was averted, and I salute this man’s awareness and action.
Very few people intentionally leave a child to bake, so if you have a young child, and you take them with you in a car seat, perhaps consider getting a device that is made to prevent such accidental forgetfulness. You can google for yourself, or check options here – https://www.fatherly.com/gear/best-car-seat-alarms/ but don’t think it impossible for you to make a mistake. You are human. Get a device.

“Don’t judge your fellow man until you are in his place.”

If you have a child in a car seat during hot weatherALLWAYS PUT YOUR LEFT SHOE NEXT TO THE CHILD — that way you will not leave forgetting your precious little one
The trick works best if you always put the shoe there, not just when the child is in the car that way you don’t forget to do it when the child is in the car. Routine is key
If you change your routine put something priceless next to your child
Simple solution. Please share
I USE TO SAY WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PARENTS UNTIL SOME EXPLAINED IT WELL:
WE DONT KNOW THE STORY FOR EXAMPLE THE MOM TAKES THE BABY TO A DAY CARE EACH DAY BUT THAT SPECIFIC DAY THE FATHER DID. NOT HIS NORMAL ROUTINE HIS BABY FELL ASLEEP IN THE CAR AND HE FORGOT THAT HE HAD THE BABY WITH HIM. SO HE CONTINUES HIS SCHEDULE …. THATS WHY I USUALLY DOUBLE CHECK WITH MY HUSBAND WHEN I ASK HIM TO DO THINGS THAT I NORMALLY DO.
It seems some people are allergic to being judged. Guess what we WILL BE JUDGED one day. All those saying dont judge please be silent you are not helping. Lives are at stake here. I had small kids too and sometimes left them in the car maybe if i had lived in florida instead of Canada, Hashem Yerachem. Yes we should judge, and maybe the shame will save one life it would be worth it.
I AM WEARY OF ANYONE WHO SAYS, HOW CAN PARENTS DO SUCH A THING, I WOULD NEVER DO THAT HOW COULD THAT PARENT BE SO NEGLIGENT.
THE TRUTH IS, IT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYONE. DON’T BE SO SURE; LESS ARROGANCE AND MORE HUMILITY: INDEED I COULD MAKE SUCH A DEVATASTING ERROR AS WELL, IS THE BEST SAFEGUARD.
May the Aibershter bless him most bountifully for his selfless act! 🙂
