The Taharas Hamishpacha Organization – Mikvah.org is pleased to announce that they are launching a Kallah Teacher Training Program after Tishrei 5778.
This comprehensive course will require a commitment of 1-week of intense study, October 22-October 26, 2017, in person, on location in Crown Heights, followed by required continued education via webinar, that you can view from your own location.
The course will include, halacha, hashkafa, sessions with experienced Rabbanim, experts in fields of mental health, physical health and anatomy, professionals on intimacy and pelvic issues, as well as expert kallah teachers who will share their expertise on teaching, and reaching, kallahs from every walk of life.
Each accepted applicant will be asked to commit to the necessary requirements to attain and maintain, the endorsement from Mikvah.org as a trained and certified Kallah Teacher, under the Taharas Hamishpacha Organization.
“There is an absolute and tremendous need for this service and for implementing authorized professional and orderly instruction,” says the organization’s director Mrs. Chaya Sarah Zarchi.
“Just as training is required in every other profession, how much more so is training necessary in giving over the facts of this most sensitive area in Jewish life – the pillar for the survival and continuity of Klal Yisroel.”
Mrs. Zarchi noted that the Rebbe himself took the time and energy to advise and appoint Mrs. Rachel Altein as the first official Kallah Instructor and Kallah Teacher Trainer.
“It is best when a mother can teach her own daughter, but for various reasons that have long ago changed and our daughters need to be taught and guided by qualified and experienced Kallah teachers – not by friends who ‘know it all’,” Mrs. Zarchi told COLlive.com.
“That a Kallah gets the right hadracha, was of great concern to the Rebbe,” she added. “After all, they are the foundation of the Jewish home – The Akaros Habayis. This cannot be underscored enough, especially in today’s times. We are in dire need of a diverse group of experienced and well-trained teachers in this area.”
Mrs. Keren Blum, who is an advisor and consultant of the course, says “there’s an acute need in today’s world to invest in the education of Jewish concepts and ideals in marriage and intimacy.”
“This is vital to promote healthy, fulfilling marital and family relationships, ensuring the strong foundation of the Jewish home,” she says. “The Rebbe guided Mikvah.org to take the lead in promoting and preserving Kedushas Am Yisroel by providing resources, information, and training that will educate the next generation of wives, mothers and women leaders.”
Application must be received by July 15, 2017. To apply, email [email protected]
I want to recommend an excellent Kalah teacher who taught me and upon my recommendations also my sisters.
If you want a terrific, frum, normal, exuberant and caring kala teacher call Mrs. Henya Laine.
I was not given her name by the office, she was recommended by my friend.
I took group kallah classes 30 years ago – that’s how it was done mainstream in CH. I am shocked to see my teacher was handpicked by the Rebbe.
My daughter, who took private classes with Mrs. Futerfas learned much more and in depth. My son, learned with Rabbi Kesselman – LA and I highly recommend bochurim make the time to fly out and learn with him. He teaches in depth halacha and explains to the guys what today’s wives need and want.
Can you elaborate on the aspect of “certified”? Will rabonim only do a wedding if the kallah learned from a certified teacher? What about the women that do teaching now, but are not” official”? And I don’t only mean the fringe, but for example Mrs F. Mrs V., who has been teaching privately for decades, and others ?
I really hope they will screen all applicants.
Better to have fewer qualitu teachers than many of inferior quality. I see which kallah teachers are being recommended on social media and i cringe. Kallah teachers need to have a solid chassidishe foundation and be a role model for the kallahs.
And why not a training program for Chosson teachers??? Is that not equally important?
I took an excellent course with Nishmat in Yerushaliam (they even teach from the Alter Rebbe’s Shulchan Aruch, for the lubavitch teachers taking the course). I highly recommend it, they address the biological, psychological, emotional and obviously halachich and hashkafic dynamics of Taharas Hamishpacha. If anyone posts with interest, i could possibly arrange in ch. Also Rabbi Kesselman in LA is the only one doing it right for the guys! Maybe he can do a course for Rebbetzins as well, and help us impart and comprehend the
full scope of what young people are dealing with.
