Crown Heights has always been a hub for culinary innovation, and now there’s a new player in town that’s only selling a single type dish and only on Fridays.
Sol to Table, owned by Meir Goldberg and Yosef Epstein, prepares quality and fresh dips for the Shabbos table. And that’s it. Nothing else is on their menu.
The two started out in the restaurant industry together and launched their own catering company, Sol Dining, in 2021. After the excellent response to their dips, Sol Dining decided to bring it to a wider audience by offering them for sale online.
Meir, originally from Monsey, and Yosef, originally from South Carolina, both reside in Crown Heights today. They launched the Shabbos dips take-out just a month ago and already have a following.
What makes Sol to Table dips stand out?
First up is the classic Hummus, reminiscent of the homemade version lovingly crafted by Saftas everywhere. Then there’s the Cashew Yogurt, a versatile spread that’s almost indistinguishable from dairy-based yogurt. The Spicy Tomato Dip provides a delightful twist on the traditional tomato dip for those craving a bit of heat.
They also offer a Georgian Spread, boasting a creamy, citrusy herb-infused blend with walnuts and French beans. Last but not least, Muhamarah is a Syrian-inspired roasted pepper dip featuring hints of pomegranate molasses and sumac.
“We want to emphasize that this product stands out from the way many other dips are made,” Meir says. “Traditionally, dips are more mundane and exactly the same as the other vendors. Many dips are mass-produced and created with unhealthy fillers like mayonnaise and sugar. We want to introduce a new way of perceiving an item that everyone has on their shabbos table.”
Currently, Sol to Table offers online ordering for pick-up, making it convenient for Crown Heights residents to enjoy these culinary delights from the comfort of their own homes. They are planning to also offer the dips in local store in the near future.
The dips are Kosher Parve under the certification of Rabbi Eliyahu Matusof. Orders can be made online, and are ready for pickup on Friday 10:30 AM-12:30 PM. To order: http://tinyurl.com/SoLToTable

Sounds intriguing, but what is the pickup location? At least the vicinity…
st. john’s and eastern parkway, it says it on the order form
Do you have an updated kashrus certificate?
The hecsher is from chanukah 5783 and says that it’s good until end of tishrei 5784. ???
Whats the pricing like?
i ordered these dips last week. they are definitely similar pricing to any grocery dips but WAYYYY better tasting. Totally worth it!
If you want more people to buy you need to give a pickup location. People aren’t going to order if they don’t know the location.
so I will remember to buy when I next make shabbos
How much are the dips?
So delicious!!
