Joining with Lubavitch communities across the world, Anash of the Lubavitch community in London gathered to view and re-live a Farbrengen of the Rebbe.
The 5-hour Farbrengen of Yud Tes Kislev 5742 was released last year by JEM along with subtitles in English and addresses how the ancient story is a source of inspiration and guidance for our troubled times.
This relates to the school system; government policy in crime reduction, and obviously – our personal life and Avodas Hashem. The primary message being “Podo beSholom” – resolution through transformation and a consistent education rather than confrontation.
This viewing, which was attended by some 50 people, was arranged by Yungerleit of the Lubavitch Kollel and sponsored by Rabbi Y. Landa.
CENTRAL FARBRENGEN
The Yungerleit also organized a large Yud Tes Kislev farbrengen which drew hundreds of residents of the Stamford Hill neighborhood in honor of the Rosh Hashana of Chassidus.
Leading it were Rabbi Mendel Gordon, Mashpia at Yeshivas Lubavitch of London and Rabbi Shabtai Slavatisky, Head Shliach of Antwerp in Belgium.
Rabbi Leibel Shtempel, an elder Bobuv chossid and a descendant of the Alter Rebbe, brought with him a letter he has received from the Rebbe about the importance of learning Chassidus.
He said he received it in his youth and that it was sent from the Rebbe through his chavrusa in Yeshiva at the time – Rabbi Berel Shemtov, today the Head Shliach of Detroit.
Rabbi Shmuel Ludmir, Rov of the Preshburg community in London who is also a descendant, told over words that he heard from the legendary mahspia Rabbi Mendel Futerfas about the meaning and purpose of a farbrengen.
Rabbi Lieberow does amazing work with the Chassidishe community in Stamford Hill. Long may he continue! Yasher Koach!
