BDE miss bernson!
She is survived by many sisters as well.
Such great memories in English class. She will be missed
Debbie also has sisters living in Eretz Yisroel, Florida, Lakewood and Passaic.
She was a devoted and beloved sister, aunt, and an incredible friend who will be greatly missed.
Ms. Benson, was sharp and very wise and very very caring to her students. I was a struggling English student in school and she really cared about me. She of her own time to review the lesson with me and ensured that I knew the material being taught.
She was very special!

She was a great teacher . I’ll never forget how she baked us cookies before her tests . So thoughtful .
She was from a large family kah. Went to school with them in Chicago.
I remember wheen she was in her teens.
Baruch dayan haemes, so sorry to hear. Miss Bernson was a devoted teacher who was more than willing to use her own time, after school hours, to help us out with our essays or to re-explain concepts. The stories she brought to class always had meaningful themes and she often included Torah perspectives. She was very interactive and had a great sense of humor. She encouraged me to publish my writings, I really enjoyed her class and am sorry to hear the sad news.

I worked with her in Beis Rivkah. When she heard that I was making an upshernish she told me that she was going to make all the cakes and cookies. She came to me with buckets of mezonos and they all looked professional and tasted great. She also used to bring pastries for her students on test days. She will truly be missed. BDE
Miss Bernson’s lessons were so well prepared and enjoyable. We learned how to analyze, write, and appreciate literature. I have such fond memories of being in her class.
Miss Bernson really cared about us her students and was dedicated to teaching us well. Even though we had her as a teacher every day, being in her class was never boring. She will be missed
As a 1994 graduate of Bais Yaakov Elementary of Boro Park, I remember Miss Bernson as my 8th grade English/Literature/Grammer/Spelling teacher. Miss Bernson’s comments in the back of my report card: “……. is a paradigmatic student whose insightful comments augment my lessons.” “Keep on communicating.״ ״הצלחה״ I remember how excited I was to see her and chat with her many years later at my daughter’s PTA in Bais Rivkah High School. She was definitely a “keep your brain muscle active” kind of teacher ! מכל מלמדי השכלתי and I definitely use that teaching/learning motto now that I’m a Bais Rivkah… Read more »
May Hashem comfort her family, students and friends. Moshiach NOW!
I was struggling with learning in highschool and I felt like she was the only teacher that cared for me to succeed in her class. She would stay after school until I did well on her tests. I remember her cookies she made for tests, how exciting she was when teaching. Because of her I will never forget my helping verbs. May her Neshama have an aliyah
