R’ David Gollub, an active member of the Chabad community in the Greater Los Angeles area in California, passed away on Sunday, 6 Iyar 5781.
He was 77 years old.
Gollub, who worked as a public certified accountant, became close to Torah and Chassidus by the Shluchim Rabbi Moshe and Ruty Weiss of Chabad of Sherman Oaks. He merited to meet the Rebbe and receive a blessing and a dollar for tzedaka.
“He was always in search of spirituality and was one of the first members of Chabad of Sherman Oaks,” Rabbi Weiss said. “He loved to learn and grew in Torah and Mitzvos.”
He was later a member of the Chabad communities in Los Angeles and Long Beach and was known as a ba’al chessed and ba’al tzedaka.
He added so much light and goodness to the world with his care and love for all and is fondly remembered by his clients, friends, family and community members, those who knew him said.
He will be buried in Tzfat, Israel and will be leaving behind his wife Yael, his 11 children and his many grandchildren to continue his legacy.
He is survived by his wife Yael Gollub – Long Beach, California and his children, Shmuel Levy – Los Angeles, California; Esther Schwartz – Los Angeles, California; Naomi Selwyn – North Miami Beach, Florida; Manasseh Levy – Los Angeles California; Sashi Gerzon-Rose – Boulder, Colorado; Tzippy Friedman – San Francisco, California; Masha Katz – Passaic, New Jersey; Shaina Zibell – Orlando, Florida; Yissi Gollub – Long Beach, California; Mendy Gollub – Crown Heights, NY; Sima Gollub – Long Beach California; grandchildren.
The levaya will take place in the holy city of Tzfas, Israel on Wednesday, 9 Iyar, by the New Tzefat Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
The family will be sitting shiva in Long Beach, California from Thursday evening, 10 Iyar, through Tuesday morning, 15 Iyar.
Shiva schedule will be:
Friday: Shacharis- 7:30 am; Visiting hours- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Motzei Shabbos visiting hours- 8:15-9:30 pm
Sunday: Shacharis 8:00 am; Visiting hours- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, & 3:00 – 7:00 pm; Mincha- 7:20 pm; Ma’ariv- 8:00 pm
Monday: Shacharis 7:30am; Visiting hours- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, & 3:00 – 7:00 pm; Mincha- 7:20 pm; Ma’ariv- 8:00 pm
Tuesday: Shacharis 7:30am.

David was such a kind loving soul that was always ready to help anyone in need at any time. Always had a good word or joke to brighten your day.
