The Jewish Future Alliance (JFA) has released a compelling report on the impact of Jewish voters from the Crown Heights area in local elections, underscoring the importance of every vote.
According to the report, 5,602 voters in Crown Heights have voted at least once in the past three years, with 449 additional voters registering since the last major election in 2022.
“This data shows the community’s direct impact on the city council race, the special election for assembly, and the mayoral race,” says Rabbi Yaacov Behrman of the JFA.
“If a special election were held today, an Anash member could potentially win,” he told COLlive.com.
Voter turnout in the mayoral primary increased by 200 percent when Eric Adams ran in the Democratic primaries for mayor in 2021 compared to Bill de Blasio’s first run in 2013, and by 400 percent when including newly registered voters.
The report also lists the 10 oldest Lubavitcher voters, many over 90, and highlights the longest-registered voters in Crown Heights.
There are 9,359 Jewish voters from Crown Heights registered, including deceased individuals and those who moved but are still registered in New York.
The report found no evidence of deceased Jewish people voting.
“In the coming years, pivotal elections will occur at the city, state, and federal levels,” Behrman said. “Voting is our means of amplifying our voices and driving change.”
Among the issues he cited as critical to the Jewish community are Yeshiva education, public safety, housing, and small businesses.
“The events of October 7 and the rising tide of anti-Semitism remind us of the urgent need for robust representation in government,” he added.
“The JFA is calling on everyone to register to vote,” he stated. “As the Rebbe always encouraged Anash to participate in elections, and he voted himself by absentee ballot.”

The single biggest issue is the dirty voter rolls.
Lots of dead, out of town and illegals registered. That is ripe for fraud.
Until that changes, our voice gets cancelled out.
Please work on cleaning up the voting rolls so we can have an honest and accurate election where the leadership will actually represent the people.
Is there a way to see the full voting rolls and verify how accurate they are? Need to push for clean voting rolls
if everyone would finally open theirs eyes like the Rebbe requested, we can change this goyishe evil dem party. its so obvious they hate jews and morality
All local elections are decided in the democratic primary. You can always vote republican in the general.
It only make sense to register as a democrat. Crazy to register as a republican
