Congregation Bnei Ruven’s annual Simchas Beis Hashoava, the largest in Chicago, was truly unforgettable as dancing returned to the streets on the newly dedicated Devorah Leah Campus, in front of the beautiful new Aaron & Clara Jolcover Lubavitch Girls High School on the first night of Chol Hamoed.
The evening was sponsored by Jewel-Osco, a partnership that has brought the cherished annual event to new heights.
Very special acknowledgement goes to R’ Yakov Yarmove, Corporate Director of Ethnic Marketing & Specialty Foods at Albertsons Companies, for his ongoing dedication to this beloved annual event and for coordinating the Jewel-Osco sponsorship.
R’ Yakov shared that his commitment to this event is driven by one goal: to make a Kiddush Hashem and bring the Rebbe nachas.
Over a thousand people danced throughout the evening as renowned singer Dovid Pearlman headlined, accompanied by Mesamechai Leiv Orchestras. With the new campus layout, women and girls enjoyed their own dedicated enclosed area for dancing.
The Simchas Beis Hashoava continued with a special farbrengen in the sukkah until nearly 4am, with hundreds of participants from across the community participating throughout the night.
Joining Rabbi Baruch Hertz in speaking and farbrenging were Rabbi Zalman Leib Eichenstein—Rav of Zidichov; Rabbi Efraim Twerski—Rabbi of Congregation Khal Chasidim; Rabbi Yaakov Robinson—Executive Director of the Midwest Council of Synagogue Rabbonim at Agudath Israel of Illinois, and Rabbi of Mikor Hachaim; Rabbi Hershel Ungar—Rosh Kollel of the Veitzener Kollel; R’ Nesanel Gantz, a prominent Askan and one of the Directors of Yad L’Achim; and many other prominent Rabbonim and community leaders.
