Democrats were on track to seize control of the House and cut into Republican-held governorships on Tuesday, Politico is reporting.
Republican victories in the Senate appeared likely to stanch a broader Democratic wave, it said.
Initial results suggested a midterm repudiation of President Donald Trump and the conservative, anti-immigration agenda he ushered into Washington two years ago, likely accelerating the Democratic Party’s reach into America’s critical suburbs on the cusp of the 2020 presidential campaign.
In New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo won a third term by beating Republican Marc Molinaro.
The Democrat was seen from the start as the prohibitive favorite in the race, with big advantages in fundraising and name-recognition.
The victory would give Cuomo the same number of terms as his father, the late Gov. Mario Cuomo.
Cuomo has been talked about as a potential 2020 presidential candidate but said he would serve out his entire term if re-elected.
New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, whose relationship with the pro-Israel community turned sour recently, defeated her Republican challenger Chele Farley to win re-election.
When asked about her presidential aspirations during a debate, Gillibrand, 51, said she will serve out her six-year Senate term.
New York Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, also critical of Israel, won election to the House of Representatives in New York’s 14th congressional district.
Several incumbent Democrats won their re-election campaigns for the U.S. House in New York:
Yvette Clarke won re-election to U.S. House in New York’s 9th congressional district.
Nydia Velazquez won re-election to U.S. House in New York’s 7th congressional district.
Hakeem Jeffries won re-election to U.S. House in New York’s 8th congressional district.
Results from other New York races:
New York City Public Advocate Letitia “Tish” James, who took an early lead over Manhattan lawyer Keith Wofford, scored a historic win by being elected as the state’s first black attorney general.
Thomas DiNapoli won New York Comptroller.
Diana Richardson was re-elected to New York State Assembly representing District 43.
Simcha Eichenstein won and will now be New York State Assemblyman for District 48, taking over the seat long held by Dov Hikind, who announced his retirement.
Simcha Felder was reelected to the New York State Senate for District 17.
Crown Heights has Zellnor Myrie as the new State Senator representing District 20 after he won the Democratic primary against incumbent Jesse Hamilton.
Although they were almost a lock to win, but for our community we should of stood up for Yiddishkeit and not endorse those people. . Sometimes for yiddishkeit we got to do the right thing

#5 is right. While I voted, I know many who are apathetic and didn’t vote. It’s a shame, as we deserve much better than Cuomo and Gillibrand. Thank God Ted Cruz won as did Ron Desantis, but those races were much closer than I would’ve like. And it’s a shame Republicans lost the House, as we will now face 2 years of President Trump’s agenda getting stymied. We can say goodbye to any further tax cuts.

No unity. Had every frum yid voted republican down the line we could of accomplished. But most people don’t vote. And then you have the democratic operatives who mislead the people.
