pretty messed up most congressional and local elections, here the democrats are endorsed. Just to help get more government freebies. And you all wonder why new york is horrible.

Do you have at least a crumb of kabolas oil? It is not about what just YOU in your head needs. It is about what community wants and being as one block. Even if PAC is wrong, it is source of such synchronization. But how can they be more wrong when you? They work with community – you are not.

And where’s your evidence that the “community” wants them? I wasn’t consulted, for example. It’s what these askonim want, probably based on who posed for pictures with them in their sukkos.

I’m guessing it would be worse. Just because the community council endorses does not mean it’s considered a desirable pick. It could mean the alternatives are far worse and we are trying to prevent someone far worse. Do your research.

I’m planning on voting for Menachem Raitport (He is listed with the Conservative party and maybe also Republican) rather than Yvette Clarke. And for State Senate where Myrie is listed as the democrat with no competition, I’m planning on going to the Republican column and writing in the name Miriam Rothstein who is not a politician, but agreed to be a write-in candidate when people asked her to. It’s important that people like Myrie (who advocated defund the police, G-d forbid) see that there is some opposition even it seems like not a lot of competition. Wherever in NYS I… Read more »

October 29, 2024 3:14 pm

Ever say they love Israel, stand with Israel, etc. YOU DON’T. Not if you endorse a שונאי ישראל like her. I have no connection to Mendel Raitport, but he can ONLY be better than her for the Jewish people. He got my family’s votes via absentee ballot. He may not be experienced, but I’m sure he will learn quickly enough.
You should be ashamed.
Trust that Hashem will provide the funding you need that you think you’d get by voting for her.

1. Many people have already voted, so you’re a bit late.
2. Yvette Clarke has done nothing for us, and there is a very capable Lubavitcher candidate running against her. Why wasn’t he endorsed?

The Rebbe's view on this
October 29, 2024 7:17 pm

Surely it’s known what the rebbe writes about the Lubavitch view on politics: 5733 Mr… New York, N.Y. Greeting and Blessing: This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter. I must say that I was quite surprised that you should ask me to express a judgment on a political issue. You must surely know that the Lubavitch movement, which I am privileged to head and lead, is not a political body and, as a matter of basic policy, steers clear of any political involvement. Its program is centered solely on chinuch, tzedakah and the dissemination of Yiddishkeit, and similar non-political… Read more »

The Rebbe didn’t want the religious movement to be affiliated with a political party but wanted people to vote for what’s best (to their understanding) for the community

At the time, the Rebbe was not being asked his opinion on whether or not to vote for a candidate who is openly anti-Israel, calls for restricting weapons to Israel for use against Hamas, opposes counterterrorism operations against Hamas, and defends anti-Israel protesters who call for death to the Jews.
Unfortunately, the democratic party and the liberals of 5785 are a whole other level than those 50+ years ago. This is not simply “politics.” The current election impacts the safety of our people!

There is a simple misunderstanding here: Lubavitch is an international Jewish movement, which is not affiliated nor endorses any political party, individual or activity. Lubavitch aims to reach to all Jews for their spiritual and physical well-being, as made clear in the Rebbe’s letter. The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council is not a Lubavitch organization. It is a local community council (like thousands all across America) Its primary purpose is to serve and represent the Jewish community of Crown Heights. Since the Jewish Community of CH is predominately made up of Lubavitcher, the math dictates that Lubavitcher Chassidim will most… Read more »

Yvette Clarke specifically and the others have been against Jews and Eretz Yisroel every time a vote came up. Recently. How dare we endorse them? These are people that actively wprk against us as a community when it matters . They are basically unopposed . Don’t endorse.

A bit disgusted with this list. I attended the meeting about bldbg these projects for homeless and problem people and got to see and witness first hand antisemitism from Cunningham. What a hater. Voting for Democrats is EVIL
October 29, 2024 11:56 pm

I don’t care how good of person you think you are or who you think you’re somehow “representing the best interests of.” The Democrat Party Hates America isn’t a NY Times Best Seller for nothing. There is no way on Earth that any of the members of this PAC would win a debate with me on EVERY important issue. The Democrat Party of 2024 is literally nothing but thoroughly, fully, completely, & absolutely EVIL on EVERY single issue of importance. I’ve never been more thoroughly outraged at this despicably misplaced insane and evil endorsement. SHAME ON YOU! SHAME ON YOU!… Read more »

Voting for Yvette Clarke? NO WAY!
October 30, 2024 11:45 am

I don’t think it “helps” at all. It signals that she can walk all over us and we won’t even object.
We don’t like her policies. We don’t like the way she votes. Let it be known that we would rather increase the number of Republicans in Congress. For that matter, we would rather increase the number of Jews in Congress, especially observant Jews!
If we are not honest, why should this non-Jew think she has to play it straight with us?

Wow endorsing Yvette Clark
October 30, 2024 4:09 pm

Why would we endorse her when there’s a local community member who has been trying for years to get voted in and his own community can’t support him!?! Shows we betray our own. If your thought is but she’ll win anyway , well at least show we tried to support Rairport and as a community we want our needs met.
Politicians appeal to whoever votes. Not necessarily who voted for them. So it’s obscured thinking

Yvette Clark?
October 30, 2024 8:33 pm

I’m guessing that it’s because she is the least of the evils. Surely you don’t actually believe she has been good for our community.
