The Crown Heights Beis Din – Badatz has issued an announcement to Anash, neighborhood residents, and visitors outlining updated response hours for the Rabbonim and expanded services aimed at providing clearer access for halachic guidance and Beis Din matters.
In a public notice dated 13 Adar, 5786, the Badatz shared that the updated schedule is intended to create a more organized system for addressing the many questions that arise in daily halacha. These include matters of issur v’heter, kashrus, hilchos taharas hamishpacha, and other related topics.
According to the announcement, Rabbi Avraham Osdoba, a member of the Badatz, is generally available for phone questions at 718-771-8737 between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m., and at times also between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. If he is unavailable, callers may leave a message.
Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun is available in the Beis Din office between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m., by appointment and as feasible during office hours. Appointments may be arranged through the Beis Din line at 718-604-8000. Questions may also be submitted through the website AskTheRav.com.
Additional rabbonim will also be available to assist the public in the Beis Din office. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Vaisfische is available Sunday through Thursday between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Rabbi Yaakov Osdoba is available on Sunday, Tuesday, and Friday between 9:40 and 11:40 a.m. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Rotenberg is available Sunday through Thursday between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m.
In addition, a hotline operating under the Badatz is available daily between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. at 718-604-8000, extension 1.
The announcement also noted that written questions can be submitted through AskTheRav.com, while questions related to Taharas HaMishpacha may be placed in the designated slot in the main office door.
The Badatz thanked the public for its cooperation, expressing hope that these expanded services will help strengthen Torah observance in the community in an atmosphere of peace and unity.
