Dear Friends and Chabad Community,
It is with hearts of deep pain and sadness that we turn to you for your help.
Growing up in Crown Heights, we were blessed to live amongst our large family of cousins, and our life revolved around Brissim, bar mitzvahs, Bas mitzvahs – there were endless simchas we celebrated together. Together with Raizel, our dear cousins, we all dreamed of the families we’d build and the good times we’d have. As we all got married and established our own families, we continued to share in simchas.
Raizel couldn’t wait to get married and be a mother, and when each of her children were born, she shared her endless joy of the blessings of raising a large family.
Raizel and her husband Berel were in the midst of raising a beautiful family of 8 gorgeous children, when suddenly life as they knew it came crashing down. From their settled life in Israel, they were thrown into the life of chemo treatments and moving to New York. Through all the physical pain and suffering that Raizel endured, she wished more than anything to spend more and more time with her children. Sometimes she was able to, and sometimes things were so tough that she couldn’t. As cousins, we visited as often as we could, sent gifts and prayed endlessly, whatever we could to ease some of her pain.
Hashem had other plans. Our cousin Raizel, the cousin who emanated positivity, who loved life and loved being a mother; who was always there for anyone and everyone with a smile and a good word, was taken from us.
Her life’s dream of raising her children was cut short. How she begged and davened to Hashem to be able to be there for her children. To be able to be there as they grow and marry.
Just a few weeks ago, Berel and Raizel celebrated their oldest son’s bar mitzvah. The nachas and joy Raizel felt was obvious – despite how she was physically feeling.
We need to do what Raizel can no longer do. We, her cousins, see her husband and beautiful children. We pray Hashem gives them the strength they need to get through this terrible tragedy. We can’t let Raizel down. Her 8 gorgeous children are left without a mother.
There’re so many things we can’t do, but we can give them the financial security of their future. Together we can ease their pain ever so slightly, by contributing to their future financially.
As her cousins, we turn to you as you to please contribute any amount, so we can reach the goal and provide for her family’s future. And without a doubt, we know how grateful Raizel is to every person, near and far, who reaches out and helps take care of the future of her family.
