A recital concert to benefit the Friendship Circle will take place in the Baruch College Performing Arts Center on June 24.
Featuring performances staring Mikhail Pais on classical piano as the main act; a special guest appearance by Moshe Hecht (vocal), Laura Kegeles (cello) and Asher Elbaz (accoustic guitar). With a special performance of Moshe Hecht’s songs: “My Friend” – written and dedicated to Friendship Circle, and “Heart is Alive” it becomes a concert that cannot be missed.
“What better way is there to make music than to benefit others with the passion that you share through your art?”, said concert pianist Mikhail Pais.
Heeding the Rebbe’s call that every person should utilize their talents to transform the world, Mikhail Pais, Moshe Hecht, Laura Kegeles, and Asher Elbaz joined together to spread love and unity through a unique performance. Merging Indie Rock and Classical music styles into a splenderous mix, it was divine providence that brought these musicians together.
Mikhail and Laura, both Baal Teshuva musicians, attended the same high school. Mikhail and Moshe Hecht formed their friendship when Moshe performed at Mikhail’s local Chabad house a few years ago. Asher Elbaz, an uprising star and aspiring rabbinical student caught the eyes of Laura’s Rabbi and by his suggestion he jumped into the ensemble.
The event is organized by Mikhail Pais and Daniel Berezner, long time friends and communal activists for the Chabad of Sheepshead Bay. Although they all come from different backgrounds in music, from Classical to Indie rock, their passion for changing the world brought them together for this concert series.
The concert will take place at Baruch Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be acquired at www.MikhailPais.com
