As record temperatures scorched Arizona (120 degrees Fahrenheit!),
one hundred and eighty people attended an event hosted by Chabad of Arizona looking for a different kind of warmth.
Marking Gimmel Tammuz, the Chabad House community of Greater Phoenix was treated to, “An Evening with the Rebbe,” a program recently produced by yuvlaMedia, with permission from JEM, that invites the audience to experience the Rebbe’s Farbrengen like never before.
“The narration in between segments of the Farbrengen really made the experience very real and personal,” said Rabbi Shlomo Levertov, director of Chabad of Paradise Valley and organizer of the event. “During every niggun you can see the crowd moving their heads to the ‘beat.'”
The evening was opened by Rabbi Mendel Deitsch of Chabad of Chandler and Rabbi Zalman Levertov, head Shliach of Arizona. Rabbi Mendel Levertov of Chabad of North Phoenix narrated the film, and Rabbi Sholom Lew, of Chabad of the West Valley, delivered closing remarks.
Afterwards, one of the participants sent this note: “Thank you for encouraging me to attend the Farbrengen tonight. It was enlightening and inspirational. I am glad that we came.”
I was in Phoenix multiple times, the Levertov’s are doing really great work there.
Chabad of Arizona does amazing things!! It should go from strength to strength!
