After a series of business ventures soured, a local Jewish husband and father found himself in tremendous debt.
He started with credit card loans, optimistic about his new business, but it failed and he was forced to turn to family and friends for help after the banks turned him away.
Then his second business failed — and he now owes hundreds of thousands of dollars as his wife and children struggle to survive.
Concerned community members have thrown themselves into the task of וחי אחיך עמך — helping this individual out of his difficult predicament in the long term, so that he can find stability and
financial security and make whole those to whom he is in debt.
But helping him get back on his feet will take months, perhaps years, and while that long-term plan is being put in place, his family needs help as they cannot afford the most basic necessities.
Expenses are piling up, and his family and young children are struggling to survive. Please help them until their father can get back on his feet and start providing for them again.

Ty for helping crown heights
With expenses so high nowadays , I can only imagine how much they need our help. So glad we can help them with this page. Thanks!
I feel like a lot of us are this same position, maybe make rent and tuition more affordable 🤔
What’s your relevance to this struggling family? Your comment is desensitized and not kind. Making rent and tuition payments has nothing to do with this family struggling.
So many are leaving now for more affortable options, meaning the donations are leaving CH too, need to find a way to help locals with better income, please open like in Lakewood an organization that helps with profeccional career and higher educaion, where we can all find better parnosah to afford this type of living. When Mesivtah is $15K-25K and pre1A-5th grade -$12K, playgroup 12K for a year, yes and its only 9-3pm, when your salary goes toward it and after tax you left with nothing. In addition to community support, how about incorporating bankruptcy law to wipe out 90% (Chapter 13) to 100% (Chapter 7) of the debt. Perhaps a “friend” can buy the house if there is too much equity above exemptions. Married couples can have almost $360,000 of equity in the house. Bankruptcy can also be used as a negotiation tactic. My comment is not meant to discourage donating money to a a fellow Jew in need, but rather to make the most of the money being donated without having to pay back creditors 100%. Would like to donate by Visa, but not through a Paypal account. Doesn’t let me do it.
Any suggestion? I am overseas.
It should work
Thank you for your contribution
expenses are just out of control, even with my stamps and benefits it feels like crown heights is off limits
we need our own upstate community like Monroe, KJ where we can have more space, land and more control over our resources ??
It’s called Kingston PA (which is also becoming unaffordable).
Contribute to help his family of course and I will. Then help this man find an occupation that will give him a sufficient living.
Stay away from the credit card loan business.
It’s shifty at best and so many men lost everything.
Donate to help the family with basic living expenses but file for bankruptcy which will wipe out all the credit card and loan debt.
To sustain a family you need at least $5-10K per month in CH…he probably did bankruptcy to his business but meanwhile the family need food and roof.
It’s not allowing me to donate with credit card . ( only allows PayPal) I have tried a few times .
Thank you for the feedback and contribution
