On Sunday evening, in the final days of this “Year of Hakhel”, Chabad of the Valley in California celebrated the culmination of its raffle campaign, benefiting Chabad’s activities.
The Finder Family Camp Gan Israel, The Ryzman Family Hebrew School and The Moshe & Ruty Weiss Early Childhood Center – Gan Israel Kindergarten scholarship funds were to benefiting.
Individuals who solicited or purchased 10 (or more) raffle tickets gathered at the exclusive Braemar Country Club, high above the mountains of Tarzana. With spectacular views and splendid décor, it truly is a unique venue.
The evening was indeed enjoyable and entertaining, with an authentic Glatt Kosher barbeque dinner.
It opened with an indoor cocktail reception, after which everyone was invited outdoors for a sumptuous barbeque feast.
The program was opened by Rabbi Josh Gordon, Executive Director of Chabad of the Valley, with a short Torah thought.
The event then featured a live performance by “The Father of Jewish Rock” Avraham Rosenblum & the Diaspora, who captivated the evening with his inspiring and uplifting tunes.
A special added surprise guest was Hollywood Comedian Steve Mittleman, who humored the attendees with his comedic fair.
Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder, Associate Director of Chabad of the Valley, hosted the Raffle drawing for the $10,000 grand prize.
To top it off, the event closed with a lavish Viennese Table with delectable delights, and a Kumzits with Rosenblum in the fabulous Burroughs Lounge overlooking the S. Fernando Valley.
