Donations have been pouring in ever since COLlive.com launched a fundraiser for Moshe Sasonkin, a child with a rare infection and shocking consequences, his family said.
Some $24,000 has been raised from 543 people, caring COLlive.com readers around the world.
A single donation from a Crown Heights individual who asked to remain anonymous amounted to $5000.
“This has been a great boost to our spirits,” a family member told COLlive. “Seeing the love Chasidim have for one another, like a family.”
Indeed, donations came from the Chabad family around the globe – from the US and Canada, even as far as China.
8-month-old Moshe, the youngest of 5 children who live in Crown Heights, was recently diagnosed with a rare infection which necessitated the amputation of both of his arms, one leg and most of the other foot.
The money raised – while a great help – is only part of the great expense needed for Moshe’s recovery, as he will need a lot of therapy, prosthesis, medical equipment, and more.
Donations are tax deductible.
Checks should be written to “Special Moshe’s Charity fund” and can be mailed to: 550 Rockaway Ave. Valley Stream, NY 11581 or can be deposited straight to Bank of America, acct # 483026918722

A family “Seeing the love Chasidim have for one another, like a family.” I happen to NOT be a chosid. I’m planning on donating, and I’ve been sharing the story and info with everyone I know, encouraging all to donate; that being the case, I find the above comment insulting, and something the Rebbe zt”l would not condone. I am confident making such a statement, becuase I’m old enough to remember when THOUSANDS of pushkes for distribution were imprinted with “Chabad” and the Rebbe zt”l ordered that all of the pushkes have labels pasted over the other labels so Yidden… Read more »

Moshe ben Nechama Dina l’refua sheleima
To # 11 its all very nice to ask for $16.00 a months but just have in mind that there are some familys who can not make more commitments than what they have.Yes $16.00 is alot of money if you dont have food on your table. just apricate if you get $10.00. or even $1.00 doller.
Yes this is very sad i wish i could give them all $600.000 dollers with out even a problem.
we should hear good news moshiach now
you can please the rebbe, but never satisfy him. $24000 is good, now lets add more.
to number 7 did you donate any money?
Would have been??
True sign of achdus
Total amount needed= $600,000
Total raised = $24000 = 4% of total.
There are 3000 families in CH. If every family gives $16 per month for a year/ or $192 a year x 3000 CH HOUSEHOLDS = $576000 PLUS THE $24000 already raised = $600,000
Can u afford $16/month?
Allow me to suggest the following to people who would like to help:
* Add a capitel Tehillim for him (what is his mother’s name?)
* Donate to the fund
* Appreciate what you have in life
this is so so sad. simply terrifying that such a thing can happen to an innocent Jewish child
seriously impressive. refua shlema
they need much much more!
this is a drop in the ocean! we all need to help out: send this to your friends and friends’ friends
extremely impressive!
may you keep using the immense power in your hands for good causes
its in times like this that Lubavitch pushes politics and naysayers aside and stands up for who she really is!!!
It’s great to know that we are part of a family.
Lets use the media for goodness and kindness, Songs and joy and we will bring Moshiach NOW!
Very touching to read, knowing that my donation brought some comfort to the family.
This is so nice to see – we need more achdus like this – that will bring Moshiach and Moshe will be healthy again!
