This past Sunday, the 7th of Adar, 200 residents of Sharon, MA, joined an evening of joy and inspiration to celebrate a Siyum Hashas, a ten year project completed by Shliach Rabbi Chaim Wolosow. It was a night of Torah, dancing, and delicious food, uniting people from throughout the diverse Sharon community.
The beautiful evening was many years in the making and fell on an auspicious date, as Sunday marked the 15th yahrtzeit of Rabbi Wolosow’s late father, Nochum ben Tzvi Hirsh, obm.
It was in his memory and honor that Rabbi Wolosow studied, and with Hashem’s help, completed the study of the entire Talmud. Just as his father infused his family with a love of Torah and mitzvot, Rabbi Wolosow has devoted countless hours to Torah learning, explanation and discussion. Over the course of his many years of learning, Rabbi Wolosow created an amazing resource – an online Torah Recording Website, WWW.TORAHRECORDING.COM. This extraordinary user-friendly site hosts thousands of shiurum which are available to the public for free.
Community leaders from across the South Shore joined in this remarkable celebration with words of greetings and divrei Torah. A common theme could be found throughout the diverse range of speakers. Each Rabbi had great admiration and respect for Rabbi Wolosow’s unending dedication to enhancing the Torah education of the Jewish community of Sharon, and highlighted the importance of making time to learn Torah amidst their own busy schedules, leaving the audience inspired and motivated to make the time to do so as well.
Following the Siyum, the Sharon community enjoyed a gourmet dinner with musical entertainment. Throughout the dinner members shared their love for their Rabbi and Rebbetzin and their unique and warm personality which attracts so many people from all walks of life. “Rabbi Wolosow is the Nachson ben Aminadav in our community, who gets things done” shared a close friend.
Rabbi and Rebbetzin Wolosow are Shluchim to Sharon, Mass for over 35 years. Together they’ve established a flourishing Chabad House including daily minyanim, daily shiurum and classes, Holiday programs, women’s programs’, Friendship Circle, Hebrew School, and more.
